Dumplings are one of the most traditional and commonly eaten Asian cuisines, enjoyed both as everyday meals and on special festivals. Said to bring wealth and good fortune, dumplings are a very auspicious food! Ancient Chinese legend implies they even have magical healing properties. They were first introduced over 1800 years ago by a wise and respected healer named Zhang Zhongjing who created little dough parcels filled with lamb, chilli and herbs to feed the freezing and ill members of his community. The people loved them so much that they went on to become a beloved staple of Chinese cuisine.
